With this, you have subscribed to our RSS feeds with Internet Explorer 7. You can also subscribe to RSS-SHIGEN-S by following the same steps.

  Internet Explorer 6
Internet Explorer 6 (IE6) does not come with RSS functionality. You have to install a plug-in to receive RSS feeds. I will explain how to use a plug-in called gblogbot liteh to subscribe to RSS feeds.

gblogbot liteh is a free software distributed by blogbot. Go to the blogbot website and click on the gVersion 1.02h (current version on 18/10/2007) link in the Download box as indicated by the red box in Fig. 1.

After you have downloaded "blogbot.exe", double-click on the file to run the installer. Follow the instructions in the installer to install blogbot. When installation has completed, restart IE6 and the blogbot icon will be displayed (Fig. 2). Click on the blogbot icon to open the RSS bar which will allow you to subscribe to RSS feeds.

Go to the NewResources page in the SHIGEN website. There is a RSS SHIGEN-R link located on the right under "New repositories" and a RSS SHIGEN-S link under "New services/sites" (Fig. 3).

First, click on the RSS SHIGEN-R link and the RSS page will be displayed. Copy the URL of the RSS page. Next, click on the "+" in blogbot's RSS bar and an "Add Feed" window will appear (Fig. 4). Type "SHIGEN New Resources" for the title and paste the URL of the RSS page onto the URL textbox. Lastly, click "OK".

A "SHIGEN New Resources" entry will appear in your RSS bar. When you add the feed, the blogbot software will automatically check for RSS feeds. You can also right-click on each entry and select "Check Now" to check for RSS feeds. If you place your cursor on an entry, the titles will appear and if you click on a title, the website will be displayed (Fig. 5).

  Firefox 2
There are two ways to receive RSS feeds with Firefox2.x, through bookmarks or with the Sage plug-in. I will start with the former.

First, click on the RSS SHIGEN-R link in the NewResources page and the RSS page will be displayed. Next, click on the "Subscribe now" button and the "Add Live Bookmark" window will pop up. If you choose to create in "Bookmarks", the RSS will be registered as a bookmark. If you choose to create in "Bookmarks Toolbar", the RSS will appear on your toolbar.
