NBRP - National Bioresource Project, Japan
On-line request announcement for rice genetic resources

Under the National Bioresource Project, Japan that started in 2002, rice genetic resources have been taken care of by 9 universities and institutes and divided into 4 categories (projects). The collection, propagation and character confirmation (description) of these materials have been carried out. From 2004, for some of the strains which completed the work, their information and seed materials become available through these four organizations.

The request for the seed materials can be done through Internet (on-line) by the following steps.
(1) Choose the genetic resource you need, then
(2) fill the request form and
(3) complete the Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) of each organization in charge.

Four categories of rice genetic resources are :
