A 10 bp was deleted in exon 4 of lhcgr (luteinizing hormone/choriogonadotropin receptor) gene by the TALEN genome editing system. In the mutation, the 133th leucine residue was replaced with a stop codon by a frameshift. No transmembrane domain or intracellular domain can be synthesized by this transcript because the TALEN target site encodes part of the extracellular ligand-binding domain of this gene. Homozygote females are infertile.
