OK-Cab^lf
Strain information | |
---|---|
Strain ID | MT1335 |
Strain Name | OK-Cab^lf |
Strain Type | Mutants |
Symbol | lf |
Characteristics | This mutant strain has a 14kb deletion in slc2a15b/lf gene induced by a CRISPR/Cas system, which lacks visible leucophores throughout life. The phenotype is similar to leucophore-free (lf) mutant (MT76), but its genetic background is OK-Cab (MT830). Observing the fluorescence using a GFP longpass filter makes it easy to see if there are any leucophores. |

MT1335_OK-Cab^lf_embryo The Cab^lf strain has no auto-fluorescence from leucophores, but the original cab strain has strong auto-fluorescence. The Cab^lf is useful for establishing the transgenic line with fluorescence proteins. |
