col2a1a-EGFP
Strain information | |
---|---|
Strain ID | TG1250 |
Strain Name | col2a1a-EGFP |
Strain Type | Transgenics |
Characteristics | Collagen, typeII, alpha 1a (col2a1a) is an extracellular matrix component of cartilaginous tissues. A fosmid clone (GOLWFno679_c08) including the col2a1a gene, which was identified from the Medaka ensemble database, was used for homologous recombination. The EGFP-kanamycin cassette was recombined into exon 1 of the medaka col2a1a gene. The medaka Cab line was used for establishment of the col2a1a-EGFP transgenic medaka. The EGFP expression is mainly observed in notochord and cartilaginous elements of the head. |
Notes | Please note that we will use sperms without dmy gene for the artificial insemination. |

TG1250_fig (A) Dorso-lateral view of a day-5 embryo. EGFP-expression is mainly observed in the notochord. (B) Ventral view of a just hatched larva. EGFP expresses in the cartilaginous elements of the head (green). (C, D) Lateral views of a just hatched larva. EGFP expresses in the notochord cells (C, D) and the cartilaginous cells of caudal fin (arrowheads in D). |
