She was born at Kanazawa Health Center in 1984. Mother was white-handed gibbon with black coat.Father was Nomascus spp.
According to zoo staffs, she had more whitish coat when she was young. sound file: an example of her vocalization
Character
She dose not fear human caregivers. To familiar staffs, she solicit grooming.
Life history
1984.09.03 Chibishiro is born at Kanazawa health center.
Chibishiro was moved from Kanazawa health center to Ishikawa Zoo with her sister, Chibikuro {0273} .
1999.04.03 Chibikuro {0273}  died.
2001.10.15 Zoo conducted a hysterectomy for contraception. One aim was to give her male partner of different gibbon species. According to the vet, her uterus was non-existence or very small.
She lived with Luke, the male white-handed gibbon.
2013.03.13-14 First visit for survey. She was 28years and 6month old. She lives alone. According to the zoo staff, she has cycle. Her health condition is good. She rarely sings.
