What is MTA?
MTA (Material Transfer Agreement) is a contract that governs the transfer of tangible research materials, such as cDNAs, cell lines, microorganisms, mice, Drosophila, etc. This contract is a Uniform Biological Material Transfer Agreement between user and both NIG (National Institute of Genetics) and MITILS (Mitsubishi Kagaku Institute of Life Sciences).

How to complete MTA contract
1) Receive MTA by e-mail
MTA file (PDF) will be attached to your request confirmation e-mail. Your requested lines and request ID will be pre-filled.

2) Fill out blanks
Print out TWO copies and fill out all blanks. Purpose should be specific and concrete.
Bad example; gBasic researchh, gLaboratory useh etc.
Authorized official should be a person in charged of intellectual property.
3) Send to NIG
Please send BOTH ORIGINAL copies to the following address. DO NOT send by FAX or e-mail.
**USA and Australia User** Please enclose permit labels with the MTA document.
